(New York, NY)– February 13, 2019 – Edward Tyler Nahem Fine Art (ETNFA) will present the installation El Âmal, 2011-2012, by late Iranian artist Farideh Lashai at ARCOmadrid, the contemporary Spanish art fair, which will be open from February 27th to March 3rd, 2019. El Âmal is projection of animated images on painting, acrylic on canvas with sound.
One of Iran’s most prominent artists, Lashai produced paintings, sculpture, installations, and video work, drawing primarily from her own personal history and also the broader history of modern Iran. Executed in 2011 and 2012, the animated projection has five editions.
El Âmal will be shown adjacent to the gallery’s stand, where works by Miguel Barceló, Sam Francis, Keith Haring, Martin Kippenberger, Roy Lichenstein, Beatriz Milhazes, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Jaume Plensa, Jackson Pollock, Ed Ruscha, José Maria Sicilia, Frank Stella, Antoni Tàpies, Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann will be displayed.
“We are bringing a strong representation of artists to ARCOmadrid, including Farideh Lashai,” said Edward Tyler Nahem, founder of the eponymous gallery. “Lashai was one of the most admired artists in Iran, and her work speaks directly to Persian culture, combined with her studies in Germany and Austria. Her oeuvre is deeply philosophical, political and literary, and it is exciting to share her vision, as well as the vision of all of the artists we are displaying; their artistic reach is universal.”
Edward Tyler Nahem Fine Art will be at Stand 7E03 at ARCOmadrid.
